Two families reached a settlement after months of complaining about roaches, bed bugs and other pests in their apartments. They claimed the problem had become so bad, they were forced to move out of their home. One family now has a $65,000 settlement with Morgan Properties Management and the other woman said she received a $55,000 settlement for a similar problem.

Bed bugs were recently discovered at Walker Mill Middle School in Capitol Heights, Maryland. County school officials described the problem as a mere annoyance rather than a health hazard for children. Officials say professional exterminators are being called in to treat and monitor the results for at least a month. While bed bugs are not known to transmit diseases, their presence may cause problems for many people.
