Can I Get Rid of Bed Bugs on My Own?
At-home, over-the-counter treatments for bed bugs are very unreliable. Many DIY treatments do not kill eggs or treat the source of the infestation. The source of the infestation may be in an area that you didn’t consider. It’s nearly a guarantee that you will waste a lot of time, money, and energy, and incur a lot of frustration if you attempt to treat bed bugs by yourself. You may even see the problem escalate during the time you try to treat it on your own.
It is important to note that even with professional intervention, it may take a few treatments to gain control over bed bugs, depending on the severity of the infestation. Bed bugs have a multi-stage life cycle and treatment will require reaching every stage of that life cycle to be effective.
